Established in 1988 in Yarmouth as Richardsons Boatbuilders we are a family run business building and servicing yachts. We operate from 2 sites – Island Harbour marina on the River Medina and Thetis Wharf in Cowes. Our range of services include slipping, boatbuilding, repairs, maintenance, marine engineering and chandlery. We offer boat owners a “one stop” facility for all craft to 50 tons at our Island Harbour site and at our Cowes site we offer marine engineering, chandlery and storage for smaller boats on their own trailers.
Island Harbour
Our purpose-built Island Harbour facility is equipped to handle a wide range of vessels and marine requirements. Facilities include:
- Modern, purpose-built boatshed
- 50-tonne Travelift
- 20-tonne boat mover
- 10-tonne mobile crane
- Forklift
- Extensive chandlery
- Storage ashore (charges apply to Island Harbour)
- Hire of large, medium and small boat cradles
We also supply a range of Perspex, Hygienic Wall Boarding and Polycarbonate, with Perspex available either cut to size or as full sheets.
Thetis Wharf, Cowes
Our Cowes facility is equipped to handle a wide range of marine engineering. Facilities include:
- Well-equipped marine engineering workshop
- Forklift
- 72-foot pontoon for customers to moor up on whilst using our chandlery or for overnight mooring *(pre booking only)
- Storage for smaller boats on their own trailers
- Extensive chandlery
